Fly By

Although tasty, last night's dinner was not the best part of the evening. Just as we were finishing up, Stacey asks what time it is. "9:15", came the response. "Oh, that's good because John's dropping a package at 9:30."

At first I didn't get it. John, her husband, was in town and wasn't expected until morning. Stacey then proceeded to explain to me that what he was doing was flying over the MRC, in his airplane, to drop off some of the copper supplement we wanted to give the calves asap.
Now, this is likely a rather routine, even possibly mundane, task around here. But for me, it was like an Easter Egg hunt on Christmas. John and Stacey were in radio contact and John had wrapped the package of medicine with bright orange duct tape inside of a tennis ball so locating it was a pretty easy affair. One of the best parts was when John tipped his wings on the final fly by. I love it when pilots do that!
